Fedhealth Medical Scheme
Changing of medicine without speaking to client

Yesterday I went to designated pharmacy to collect chronic medicine. I was informed that it had attracted a 40% copayment (R300) as it had been taken off their formulary. Call centre advised that my doctor phone them to arrange a cheaper medicine. As my appointment with specialist is only booked for 11th September I am left with no medicine. As I have had to change specialist to fall in line with Fedhealth rules & only have appointment in September what am I supposed to do in the meantime?
I don't have a problem with cheaper medicine but Fedhealth should have communicated with me instead of leaving it to the pharmacist. Should I have a relapse due to abrupt stoppage of medicine I will hold them responsible. Their attitude is disgusting! I have emailed chronic meds dept & senior manager of operations, Daniel Von Wielligh & am awating response.
