Physician requested blood test, Discovery won't pay

My physician requested an insulin blood test, but discovery won't pay because 'daar is nie mediese bewys van die doeltreffendheid en langtermyn resultate nie". A physician studied for approximately 15 years, and insulin has a direct impact on diabetes, but discovery won't pay. this is totally unacceptable. according to the call centre, there is a more 'efficient' test, but they are unable to tell me as they don't have access to that information. was a letter sent to drs. who studied for 15 years, that the test doesn't prove efficiency or long term results???
