OVERCHARGING MEMBERS WHILE THEY DON'T DELIVER

I find it very unfair for us as Government Employees who are forced to join GEMS while Government Employees Medical Scheme is not capable of paying the suppliers. As a member I am paying the huge monthly contribution as I chose Emerald option hoping this will take care of my medical needs, however I am always left with huge outstanding amounts from Doctors whereby GEMS pay less. Their promise of getting 75% benefits unlike those who do not fall under the scheme I find it as the way of just attracting people to join them. Their case is on the fact that we should use their designated provider which are the state hospitals, this is totally disgusting as we are forced to go for mediocre service that is totally poor while paying huge premiums to them. Same applies when you go to Phamarcies, there are items that GEMS doesn't cover which is totally frustrating. When I join medical aid I was hoping for better however I am drowning with huge outstanding balances that I always have to bear as GEMS is unable to settle full balance. This is totally unfair and disgusting to me as a Tax payer as well as medical aid member who find herself in this condition while I was hoping for better.
