Glasgow Ponte Hotel

Our family were travelling from Cape Town to Johannesburg, and booked an overnight stay at the Glasgow Ponte Hotel, as we don't like to travel the full twelve hours without sleep. We payed R800 for the night - not a very reasonable amount compared to other overnight facilities, but we thought if we payed more, we would get a good quality stay.
On their website they create the picture of the ideal family experience!! Lo and behold, they do not mention that on arrival you are met by a woman complaining that you are late. They don't mention that you have to walk to a communal bathroom to bath of go to the toilet, and clean after your bath, because there are no staff available to do it! They also don't mention that the hotel is on the verge of a township, and accross the road is a nightclub - which plays music till early in the morning, so loud that ear plugs don't even keep the sound out. Being a parent, this is a hotel from - aside from the loud music all night and fear for you life, you hit the road the next day EXHAUSTED. No one wants to stay at this hellhole when you are driving far the next day - and that at R800!
