Not What They Promise!

I changed to momentum because they are supposed to offer the best maternity benefits, even 'claiming' to cover the cost of a doula for women who want to birth naturally. What they don't tell you is that associated hospitals you need to go to don't have associated gynecologists and only associated gynecologists can approve a doula ie it is impossible to hire a doula. I assumed (and wrongly so) that by choosing to go to an associated hospital that at least one doctor would be an associated doctor where as in fact none of the hospitals around me have any associated gynecologists. I live in Table View and the closest option that the call center could give me for an associated gynecologist is in Mitchelle's Plain and they couldn't even tell what hospital he worked at! When I enquired about midwife fees, Momentum could not tell me of any associated midwives, nor could they tell me beforehand what amount they would cover for the midwife visits. They also said that if the delivery ends in an emergency c-section (emergency meaning the c section could not have been anticipated before the time) they would not pay the midwife because she is supposed to be able to deliver naturally.
