I have sent numerous requests via email to get my gym membership suspended due to being pregnant. My dr has put me on complete bed rest since jan till I give birth in August. On each request I was told "no exceptions anymore." I received an email in April stating I needed to visit the gym 3 times otherwise it would be cancelled. Never once was I notified at anytime during the course of this year of the new changes coming into effect for gym vitality members. I am now tired of fighting, explaining and emailing discovery. I refuse to pay a vitality premium as well as a gym membership premium as I only use my vitality for my gym. I don't get the woolworths benefit either as I am not on a "premium" option plan. So basically for me It's a waste of time and money. I would rather much invest my money elsewhere than in vitality which does not benefit my family or I in anyway.By the end of this year I will be canceling my medical aid with discovery and moving over to someone who rewards their loyal clients and who inform us well ahead of any new changes that would effect my monthly expenses. Forget the fact that we have been a member for 7 years.
