Samsung Galaxy S3 terrible quality

I have had my new Samsung Galaxy S3 for less than a month. The very first time I dropped it, the screen shattered while in its Samsung protective casing. While googling for repair agents, I find that this is a very common problem for this smart phone.

I find it completely unacceptable that this problem has not been sorted out. In addition, what is the point in spending R400 on a protective case if it does absolutely nothing?! I'm being quoted absolutely ridiculous amounts (up to R3000) to replace the glass screen, and I'm wondering if it's worth it since this will almost certainly happen again.

I will definitely not be recommending this product to anyone.
