Assignments and not being available for queries

I am studying a Bed in foundation phase for teaching through Unisa. I received an SMS to say that my assignment was due on the 6 September instead of the 4 October as stated in our Study Guides. I then receive a letter via post today (2 September) to say it is due 2 September. I have phoned the relevant lecturer all day and the phone just rings. I have emailed them, also no response. I have phoned all the numbers for head of the Department of Education only to be told the service is no longer available. This is not the first time they have not been available or answered my emails.
