Save yourself the pain of doing business with this builder. After an initial good start, Jannie pulled the oldest builder's trick in the book and disappeared. He abandoned his team of around 20 builders on site, and did not pay their wages, or pay for their food or accommodation. He did not honour his rental agreement with a plant hire company. We suspect that he was using money that we paid him for supplies for our project to pay his own debt or on other projects. When we started paying directly to suppliers Jannie Saayman conveniently disappeared. Today we found out that he also changed our paid-for paint order at a local supplier to an order for cement - whether that was used on our project or another project is anyone's guess. He does of course not take any of our calls or answer any emails. DO NOT use him, you will be cheated out of thousands of rands, as we were.
