Touter stopped working warranty voided through hea

Hi Peter I so need your help on this on. I bought a Billion wireless-N ADSL2 modem/router from them, in Jan 2013. Set it up and it was working fine. Up until last week Tuesdays. It stopped working totally. I took it in to matrix at carnival mall, to which I was told it would be sent in to see what the problem was. I have just had a call from kevin at the branch saying that a circuit had been burnt out for some unknown reason and that the warranty now has been voided by their head office for this. What I would like to know is if a router is never moved touch or handeled in any way and a circuit apparently is burnt can they void a warranty or are they just supplying us as consumers with substandard equipment and when something does go wrong they move away and say its not their problemm is this how any and all consumers are treated by matrix or is it just the ones whom they try and take a chance with and hope that we will just sit back and say yes sorry its something that just happens and then for us to fork out more cash and fill the pockets with hard earned money while they keep supplying us with this rubbish that only last three to four months and the apparently blows a circuit.
