Timeliness poor and lacking knowledge of supplies

My iPhone 5 has been at iFix Canal Walk since 01/01/14 and it has not even begun to be worked on. Every time I call I get the response "We have no batteries and don't know when we will be receiving more. Maybe tomorrow."
Surely once a battery is needed, one is ordered from a supplier or nearby branch? Then the store should also know when the battery will arrive.

The staff have been friendly and helpful, but the service delivery and efficiency has been very poor for such a simple part replacement.
