Microsoft does not know how to help

I keep on getting a message " internet explorer has stopped working" I have contacted Microsoft many times and every time they tell me to do something but after that the problem is still there. I have checked all the forums and none of the suggestions work.
I whish Microsoft can be like Apple with one operating system that works
