Chaos Computer Systems
Incorrect 'diagnosis' of computer failure

Computers & Services

I bought a Lenovo i7 and after 18 months the computer 'died' on me. They apparently sent it to their technical department and the feedback was that the motherboard was faulty and it would actually be cheaper to buy a new laptop than to fix the Lenovo. Since I don't know much about computers, I believed them. I went to buy another computer - definitely not from them. I didn't even bother to pick up the laptop and about a year and a half later a friend insisted that I go and pick it up. It took him 30 minutes to determine that it was only faulty RAM that caused the problem. So Chaos was the reason that I had to spend R11 000 for a new laptop while it would have just cost me a few hundred rand to replace the RAM. Wonder if they even bothered to send it to their tech department. Needless to say, I am exceptionally upset. Word to the wise, stay away from them.
