Charged for wasted petrol

After telling a petrol attendant to "fill up my car" on Sunday, at Lombardy East Engen - 16 Curie Road, (already had 1/8 tank), he proceeded to fill past the automatic stop. When we heard him filling after the "click", we told him to stop and he continued cramming in more petrol. Then we noticed petrol running underneath car, past driver's door. Jumped out and told him to stop immediately as he overfilled tank (evident by it pouring out of tank and under car). Was told by the attendant my tank has a leak, and was not from overfilling. When we complained to management, we were told it was our fault for not specifying to only fill "up to automatic stop" and were charged for wasted petrol. Do the attendants not receive training? or does Engen teach them to waste customers money by telling them to pour in petrol until it flows OUT OF THE TANK and ONTO THE FLOOR?! (have photos as proof, but management was not interested... as we were "lying")

they have lost my patronage and will be informing people to stay away from them.
