Fiat Bravo tyres

Cars & Transport

I bought a second hand 2010 Fiat Bravo 1.9lt Diesel from Fiat Helderberg, in Somerset West, Cape Town. The vehicle had 28500km on the clock. I have had the vehicle for three months and now have to replace the two front tyres. I have just complete 8500km with the vehicle. Fiat says this is normal. Never mind the fact that they sold me a vehicle with tyres older than 5 years old. Which I believe is not recommended by both vehicle and tyre manufactures. They claim that it was my driving style that has resulted in the two front tyres being worn down to the metal reinforcing. They also stated, that they did not do the wheel alignment for the vehicle as it passed road worthy. This I found strange, as they use the vehicle for test driving and any number of people will test a vehicle. They also used the vehicle for their own use.
I would like fiat to replace the tyres, as they where older then 5 years when the vehicle was bought and they did not do the wheel alignment. Leaving me with a expense of R 2100.00.
Did I mention that they did not even do the vehicles 30 000km service, until I had informed them that they had to do it. Makes me wonder about how much thought went into the tyres!
