Noisey Power Steering Pump

I bought a 206 X Line in 2006 with only 35000kms on the clock, the car was a domo model. It then had a slight whine that I did not identify but got worse as time went by. I have since been told that the now very loud whine is a faulty Power Steering pump. Peugoet have been no help at all. I took my car to Boksburg and they said that I would have to book it in for a diagnosis... diagnosis? the problem is a faulty pump, but Peugeot will not admit that this model has a faulty pump and want me to pay over R 5000 for a new pump. NOT HAPPY TO SAY THE LEAST!!!
