My car was in a minor collision on 26 February. It was towed in to M and L Panel Beaters in Goodwood, Western Cape, on the same day. The insurance assessor from SANTAM assessed the car and approved the repairs to be done (R17 000) on 1 March. I phoned M and L for a progress report on 13 March; they would "come back" to me. I phoned again on Friday 15 March and spoke to someone else, who would "come back" to me. On Monday morning 18 March I phoned again and spoke to a manager, who actually called back about three hours later. He said they would start stripping the car today 18 March. I feel that a long time passed before any work was done to the car. To his credit, the manager phoned back later to offer me a courtesy car. This company is AA approved, as well as approved for repairs authorised by SANTAM, Mutual and Federal, SA Eagle, Hollard and many car marques, such as Toyota, Honda and Ford. One wonders why.
