Was involved in a car accident in December. As part of my insurance benefits I got a 30 day car hire option. I picked up the Hyundai i20 from Avis Randburg on 9 January 2013 and they took my card details (in case of speeding tickets and damages to the vehicle). I paid the R750 fuel deposit and that was it. 5 days prior to 9 February 2013 I stated getting sms reminders to return the vehicle to Avis. As I had just been discharged from hospital I asked my husband to return the vehicle. He called Avis Randburg and asked if we can drop the car at Ormonde and they said yes that's not a problem as long as it is done on the 9 February 2013 before 12:00pm. The car was returned to Ormonde on Saturday 9th Feb between 11:00 - 11:30.

On the 1st March 2013 my account was debited for R2940.19. I called Avis Randburg and the lady told me that the Ormonde claims the car was returned a day late and it had damages to it and was told that the branch manager of Ormonde would contact me to explain. I waited and received no call at all. I went and reversed the transaction. This morning I got yet another notification of R3272.00 taken from my account.
