Ridiculous to make customer pay to get radio code

Cars & Transport

I have recently had to replace the battery in my 1 year old Nissan xGear, once this was done I realized I needed a code to unblock my radio.By alligator my nearest branch in Bruma and speaking to the service manager who had a real couldn't care attitude, I was told I need to fork out R400 odd plus an hour for them to remove the radio and reset the code! With this said, the manual of the vehicle clearly stats that the code is in the floe compartment of the car! Which is not the case! What a load of none as and a money making scheme! The code is not in the book either, surely this is not my problem! When your PIN number at an ATM or for Internet banking is a problem, one can simply get it fixed with no money spent! Great reputation Nissan has for themselves! Never been a Nissan customer before only VW and quite frankly I would go back tomorrow! If it is my vehicle and I was never issued the code, Nissan should be assisting and not trying to make money out of me! Very disappointed! A week has gone by and still no music in my car!
