My fiance tried to rent a car from Apex last week Thursday. He does not have a credit card, and so was to use his mom's. All Apex needed to do was drop the car at her home, where all the relevant documentation was waiting. They promised to call him back as soon as they were on their way. They never called, so he called them. It turns out they won't accept her card, because it's a Capitec card, and "their machine doesn't take it". So he organised to use his Dad's card. Same location, all the documentation ready. He phoned Monday morning, but apparently they "had to wait for the car to come back", like they only have one car that they rent out! They promised to phone back. We're still waiting, and have gone with a different company.

People don't rent cars for fun, they rent them because they desperately need to get to work. Our previous experience with Apex was the complete opposite, which is why this is so disappointing.
