Sat Nav update

I purchased my Nissan 370Z in January 2011. I just took my car in for a service and i was told that i will have to pay R2465 to update the Sat Nav. The map version in the sat nav is 09-10 and was out of date before i even drove the car of the show room floor due to the Soccer World Cup road works.

My car is still in its service plan so i dont see why i need to pay to the upgrade the sat nav as it was out of date from the start.
