Misleading Sales Practices and Complete Disregard for Customer Time

I had a highly unprofessional and misleading experience with this dealership.

Prior to visiting, I contacted the branch to confirm that the vehicle was still available. My initial call was handled by the Head of Finance, who asked Yan to return my call. Both Yan and the finance manager explicitly confirmed that the vehicle was available. Yan further followed up via WhatsApp to maintain communication, reinforcing that we could proceed. Based on this, we arrived at the branch at 12:50 as serious buyers, ready to conclude a transaction.

While on site, we engaged in detailed discussions about the vehicle, including how long it had been on the floor, which further confirmed its availability. We were actively assisted and even spent time addressing minor issues, including diesel leaks, while Yun arranged for the vehicle to be valeted. All of this created a clear understanding that the vehicle was being prepared for us.

Despite this, we were kept waiting for several hours with no indication of any competing interest or pending sale.

At approximately 16:30, while we were in the process of completing paperwork and preparing to make payment with Yun, a “buyer” suddenly arrived and was taken for a test drive in full view of us. This was done openly, with another sales agent visibly amused, which added to the unprofessional nature of the situation.

At no point during the nearly four hours we spent at the dealership were we informed that the vehicle was in the process of being sold or that another buyer existed. This represents a serious failure in communication and raises concerns about the integrity of the sales process.

We were misled, our time was wasted, and we were treated with a complete lack of respect as genuine customers ready to transact.

Following this, I submitted a formal complaint to Yun requesting a response from management addressing:

* Why false availability was communicated
* Why we were not informed of competing interest
* Why we were made to wait for hours under false pretences
* The unprofessional conduct of staff observed on site

However, the response I received was even more concerning. I was informed that this conduct was in line with direction from the CEO.

This raises serious concerns about the dealership’s business practices and level of accountability. I expect a formal and transparent response from senior management.
