Unresolved Issues with Kia Seltos – Poor Service and Vehicle Damage

Dear Kia South Africa Customer Care,

I am writing to formally raise my dissatisfaction with the level of service I have received from Kia and to highlight two unresolved issues with my Kia Seltos, which I find completely unacceptable.

1. USB Connectivity Issue – September 2024
In September 2024, I brought my brand-new Kia Seltos to your service centre due to repeated disconnection of the USB connection between my Android phone and the car's system, particularly affecting navigation via Maps. I left my car overnight with the understanding that the Service Manager, Salim, would resolve the issue.

Upon collection, I was advised to purchase a USB connector, which I did—yet the problem persisted while I was travelling on 23 September. On my return, I contacted your Customer Care agent, Maepedi, multiple times and requested Salim return my calls. To date, I have received no feedback or resolution.

2. Vehicle Damage After Battery Issue – June 2025
More recently, on 2 June 2025, I experienced battery issues and required roadside assistance. My car had to be towed by Dantjies Towing and was delivered to the dealership on 3 June in perfect condition—no scratches or dents inside or outside the vehicle.

On Thursday, 5 June, I was informed by Maepedi that my car was ready for collection. Upon inspection, I noticed visible scratches inside the boot, which appeared to be the result of something having been forced in and the door closed improperly. I immediately raised this with Maepedi, who said she would check the security footage and revert back to me.

Today is 1 July, and I have yet to receive any form of update or resolution. I find the lack of communication and accountability deeply concerning and not at all in line with the standards one would expect from a reputable automotive brand.

I request immediate escalation of both matters. I expect:

A formal response to both issues,

A clear explanation and resolution plan,

And appropriate compensation or repairs for the damage caused while in Kia's care.

Please treat this matter as urgent.
