Inkenkwana Logistics
Courier vehicle rushes onto premises and kills dog

Cars & Transport

On 11 December 2013 IKK logistics delivered a case of wine from the Wine Club at my home (11 Orange Drive, Three Rivers, Vereeniging). When our housekeeper opened the gate, the driver rushed into the yard, driving over Bonny, our pedigreed Scottish terrier, killing her. My wife was less than 5 minutes away from home, but the driver insisted to leave and rushed off. Shelly then called me, apologising for the incident, saying that they would 'pay for the dog's funeral'.
Perspective in the incident: My daughter passed away 1 month prior to this incident, and Bonny was the youngest of 5 Scottish terriers we own - She was purchased for R7000 from a breeder in Pretoria. I have been a member of the Wine Club since 1996 - we have received numerous deliveries over this period, on top of countless visitors and flower deliveries in die period after my daughter's death - without a single incident. IKK sent a bouquet of flowers (which we appreciate) and a letter, refusing to accept any liability for the loss we have suffered, claiming their drivers are not negligent. We sent another letter to IKK on 17 December, but are now being ignored.
The Wine Club has stopped future IKK deliveries to me.
