I purchased a vehicle from Auto Capital in November 2013, the salesman I dealt with is named Junaid Gafoor.
There were no problems with the purchasing process and I took possession of my vehicle.
I paid the R3000 that Auto Capital charges to re-license a vehicle and register it to your name.
Junaid told me that I could come back and collect my number plates in approximately a week.
After 6 weeks I had still not heard anything about my plates so I phoned Junaid, he then said that he told me to get the plates myself and that Auto Capital would reimburse me.
I asked him why I had to pay the R3000 licensing fees if I had to do the licensing myself and he said it was to cover the valet and R400 diesel that they supplied me.
I tried to phone the owner of the dealership to query but Junaid answered the phone and said that he owned Auto Capital, I later found out from the bank that he was lying.
In the meantime my car was impounded because I was driving without number plates, Junaid refused to pay the fine to have the car released and I had to take 2 days off work because I had no transport.
I finally got Wesbank to force him to get my plates a full 2 months after I bought the car.
