BMW ARE PREPARED TO SACRIFICE SAFETY

Cars & Transport

During July 2012 I purchased a BMW X3 (35i, now done16500km), brand new, and during March 2013 I purchased a slightly used (~6650 km) BMW 328i.

During the past few weeks I have been plagued with safety concerns on both vehicles. I initially contacted BMW to discuss the incident where, on the 328i, the rear passenger-side door opened after I rode over a pothole. I made contact with BMW SA and arranged to have the car looked at within the next few days.

Meanwhile on the X3, my wife experienced a horrifying and potentially life-threatening incident. The screen blanked out and control of the steering wheel became severely compromised while taking a right turn at a traffic light. She managed to stop the car in the oncoming lane and speedily exit from the car. Being in a state of shock, she left it stationery, a major safety hazard to oncoming drivers. Since this is not the first time we experienced electronic trouble with this vehicle I asked BMW to assist with trading in the vehicle at a subsidised rate. They refused summarily and without providing reasons - I guess they make cars for money not for people. AND THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT MY FAMILY'S SAFETY AT ALL. NO MORE BMW'S FOR ME.
