I was allowed to rent a car through my insurance company, whilst my car was at the panel beaters. A reservations clerk contacted me and left a message. I then called them back at 08:17 and had to wait /- 5 minutes before they answered. I spoke to a gentleman, who took my details and policy number and then put me on hold to check with the Sandton branch when a car would be ready for me to collect, which he came back and said at 14:00. All seemed to be confirmed.

I received another call from Budget about my car rental at about 09:15 but got cut off and no one called back. When I visited the Sandton branch at 15:15, there was no reservation confirmed and no vehicle for me. Between 4 booking agents behind the counter, there wasn't much action. I then contacted the call centre again on my cell, which after 5 minutes no one had answered and then I called again and they answered after 8 minutes and to go through my story, got cut off. The amazing thing is, they don't ever attempt to call you back.

Finally, there seemed to be some action by the booking agents and they were going to issue me with a Group M vehicle and then gave me a Group B. No apologies for the bad service!!
