I own a 2006 VW Golf V GTI from new and have loved owning it.
I called in on 14/11/13 to book my car in for the campaign on the change out of the coil packs on my golf. I requested to bring in the vehicle on Friday 15/11/13.
The lady at the service booking desk said that she will call me back to confirm the availability of stock and when I can bring in the car.
She called back and confirmed that I could bring the car in on Monday morning 18/11/13 and that there is stock of the coils.
I bring my vehicle in on Monday, only to be greeted with lots of attitude from the service advisor Alard Gale and the service manager Giuseppe Cagnazzo.
The coils were not available for the change-out. I was asked to wait from 08h15 to 11h00 until they got the coils from Lindsay Saker Johannesburg in and changed them.
I said to them that they are wasting my time going on in this manner, as I had confirmed and booked in adequate time.
The service manager then asked me if I could go to Lindsay Saker Johannesburg and wait there to have the coils changed. With the new Golf 7 GTI out, any consideration to venture into buying this new vehicle has been dashed by the service received.
I am most dissatisfied
