An insurance claim was lodged with Standard Bank as my shower glass had been accidentally damaged. This claim was lodged on 18 October 2013 at 11H00. I received an sms almost immediately to indicate to me that this matter had been passed on to PG Glass and I was provided with a reference number. On Wednesday, 23 October I received a call to arrange an evaluation visit for Friday 25 October as the person who carries out the aluminium repairs would only be available on Monday 28 October and he could then repair the glass as I was not going to be home - the evaluator would capture the necessary details due to my planned absence on the day of repair. I waited the entire day for the person to arrive, to no avail. I am almost 10 days into waiting. A simple call to convey to me that the person could not make it would have been in order. Standard Bank uses preferred providers who attend to their insurance claims. Service should be monitored in order to remove inefficient providers...
