Misinformed new Xtrail spare wheel

Cars & Transport

N March 2013 I purchased a 2013 X Trail 4x2 brand new from Sandton. I had various discussions with my sales person and the manager regarding towing of our caravan. I also had a Nissan approved towbar fitted by Sandton branch. Now here is the catch - I was informed by the salesman that the vehicle has a full sized spare wheel but NO mention was ever made that the wheel size is smaller and when fitted to the vehicle you may NOT tow a trailer or caravan. Well, now there is a huge safety issue that I was not briefed on. So, scenario, towing my caravan down to the coast on a Sunday and I have a flat, what do I do Nissan SA??

I was in contact with Sandton branch, all he can offer is a new wheel / Tyre at a cost of R 6, 000 of which he will only carry 50%.
I need this resolved. I am now in a situation where it is a risk to go on holiday with my caravan unless I spend R 3, 000 for a new wheel?
How many Xtrails are on the road that tow caravans without the owners being aware of this?
