PG Glass - Poor service and workmanship

I visited PG Glass Fourways about an window replacement. The person at the desk outlined the options and asked me to email the dimensions. I emailed these but after several days had no response.

I then started phoning the centre but over and over there was simply no answer, day after day. Eventually, after two weeks, I went back in and was encouraged, after contrite apologies and reassurances, that they could assist.

I was given a verbal quotation for my selected glazing of R1, 300 and an appointment was scheduled. On the day, the quotation jumped R400 to R1, 700 and again I was given apologies. I decided to proceed as I urgently needed the glazing work done.

Upon my return home I see: the beading for the window has not been replaced properly, the beading has been damaged, and the inside is not sealed properly.

I have tried again to call the centre but there is no answer. I called the contractor and he has apologised and offered to return tomorrow to fix it.

My question is: why did he not do it properly the first time and is he capable of fixing it without further damaging my beading or something else?

Why do we have to fight so hard to get things right as consumers?
