How does a garage shop run out of MILK?

I drove to BP on Sunday morning to get milk (Due to the Benoni marathon taking place on that day it took me almost 30 minutes to get there and I only live around 2km away) I walked into the shop and guess what? They had no milk in stock. How do you run out of milk at a convenience store? Milk? Probably one of the most commonly purchased items in this type of establishment.
