Ritchie Auto
Faulty breaks supplied during service

Cars & Transport

I took my car (mazda2) in for a service and adviced the attendant that my car was making a squeeking noise. They promised to investigate. During the day I got a call to say my break discs and breakpads needed replacing, that's why the car was making a noise.

I gave them permission to go ahead and replace.

I collected my car and the attendant advised my car would still make a noise for a few day further but will be back to normal by the following week. That was not the case, my car squeeked on for a while longer and just never stopped. I called and let the company know and they said to bring it back in to investigate. I did that and they replaced the breaks citing that they car was fitted with the incorrect make of breaks and they replaced it with the correct one.

However, to date my car still makes the same noise, in fact it's now worse than ever. I am not sure whether they take advantage that I am a women and will not know the difference anyway. But I am cncerned of my safety on the roads and whether or not I am driving with deffective breaks. I paid close to R5000 for them and that's a lot of money for substandard parts.
