I really can't understand dealerships. I phoned Sandton Jeep yesterday and said that I would make a deal with them - I would pay full retail for a new Grand Cherokee 2014 model but in return I wanted full retail on my 2012 Grand Cherokee which is in immaculate condition with only 18 000 km on the clock. Surely that is a fair deal and the dealership as a whole will make money out of my offer.
Not on though as the used car section will not play ball. They want to make their money and this will be at the expense of losing the whole deal and the dealership as a whole not making any money out of me.
This is silo-based and blinkered thinking and I am sure that the owners of the dealership would be flabbergasted at the fact that they are losing out on a sale of a new car because the used car manager is so short-sighted.
