Subaru South Africa
Subaru's Pathetic, non-existant customer service

Cars & Transport

On 26 May 2013 my 2011 WRX sustained mechanical failure and overheating. The vehicle was towed to Subaru durban for repairs. Firstly it took over a week to have the vehicle assessed. Then more than a month later additional parts were reportedly required. 2 months down the line, repairs have not been completed. There is never any feedback regarding progress or rather the lack thereof forthcoming. The customer always has to chase the service department for feedback and action. Everytime I enquired the parts suddenly materialised and were in the process of being fitted. Complaints to the Dealer principal were met with the same level of inaction. Complaints to Subaru SA have never received a single response. I now want whatever parts that have been fitted to be removed and repairs done elsewhere. I am not willing to pay for labour and reward their non-existent service. Complaints will be lodged with consumerwatch, motor industry ombudsman and the consumer council. If they want me to reward their hopeless service they will have to take the matter to court first.
