Hertz Car Hire
Hertz still has a long way to go!

Cars & Transport

On the 13th of June I hired out a POLO VIVO 1.4 from OR Tambo. The car had 23500 km on the clock, which is obviously old compared to an average car you'd get from other players in the industry. About 200 km later, we had a puncture from nowhere, had to use the spare wheel. We lost the hubcap/wheelcap in the process. Only to find that the tyre was worn out from the inside, evidently very old. We had to buy a tyre when we got to KZN as we didn't trust the other tyres. Problem #1.

Upon returning the car on the 18th of June, they held back R1500 of the initial deposit. I didn't get an invoice to show me all the costs involved and how much I was going to get back. I had to phone in, send e-mails. Problem #2.

Hertz should be liable for that tyre and the lost hubcap as they clearly gave me a car with an old tyre. If I am liable for the lost hubcap, then deal with the claim quickly and give me back my money.

For the sake of every one else that's going to hire out your cars, please Hertz should check the tyres. This is the second time we have issues with Hertz, clearly it's normal - that's why I will never use them again. And you wonder why Avis is the best in the game.

I hate Hertz!
