Invoice Issue

In December 2012 PG Glass Allen's Nek replaced a window in my car.
The invoice was settled in cash before the car left their workshop.
Today, 6 months later, PG Glass Allen's Nek calls me to say the invoice is still outstanding.
How can any business have such poor account management these days!?
