Defective Qashqai

Cars & Transport

I bought my first ever new car - a Qashqai. The excitement was short lived however as the day after I received it I noticed the bonnet does not line up correctly. I noticed this because at first I thought the bonnet was open. The front does not line up and on the one side you can actually stick your fingers right between the gap! I am no car expert but I know this is not right. I called William Simpson Tokai where I bought the vehicle and was told a Nissan rep would come look, and based on inspection of all their new Qashqai's they ALL have this bonnet misalignment. The rep has been and reckons this is within "spec". I am sorry but I cannot accept that I must pay R250 000 for a car that is not right and cannot be fixed. I want a full refund! I have now been told someone else is coming on Wednesday and I must take my car back till then. I DO NOT WANT THE CAR - IT IS NOT RIGHT. I am so frustrated as this is supposed to be an exciting purchase and has been nothing but a nightmare. Per the CPA I am entitled to return defective goods and get a full refund. Why then am I not being allowed to do so?
