Unacceptable noise in new Qashqai

I took delivery of a new Nissan Qashqai on 17 January 2013. As I was driving away, I immediately noticed that the car was very noisy; a combination of a whine and a droning sound, at times similiar to a wheel bearing. I phoned the dealership the next day and advised that the car was noisy and that I wanted it to be checked out. They booked the car in and also agreed that there was an unusual noise. They got the Nissan South Africa rep in who drove the car and then said it was "within spec". I cannot accept that a new car can be this noisy; I would like the car to be properly inspected and tested to investigate and fix the source of the noise.
