My GWM Steed 5, bought in 2012, recently had its 10000km service during which I was informed that the front brakediscs needs to be skimmed as they are uneven. Therefore the vehicle shudders when I brake. The service centre sent through a warranty request as the vehicle is not even 1 year old, but to my surprise the claim was denied. I phoned the GWM headoffice a few times - details on their website - but no answer. I believe the vehicle is still under warranty and that they must own up to the junk brakepads they supply with the vehicle, which according to most GWM dealers, was not made for SA conditions. Why not tell me that before I bought this vehicle? I will not recommend anybody to buy a GWM ever... their level of service is atrocious to say the least.
