I was involved in a car accident in Franschoek in March, when my whole family was nearly wiped out by a truck driving recklessly. Under contract I understand that I am liable to pay the excess value signed for. Europcar don't even have the courtesy to phone and let you know that R20k will be deducted from your credit card, you simply get an sms! Awesome customer service. I emailed Europcar on the 30th April and Torry Msimango and Claire Pattison did respond. I then emailed them on 7 June, 11 June and 13 June to find out the progress of my case as I would like to get my R20k back, once they have received money from the other party involved in the accident. NOBODY in the company has the courtesy to reply to my email?!! In this day and age when the customer is supposed to be protected, it certainly seems some companies don't take customer care too seriously! I will never, ever use Europcar again, Discovery discount of 35% or not!!!
