Steering lock lack of feedback

Cars & Transport

At 07h45 when i tried to start my car there was no power to the dash. The central locking, mirrors, lights and windows were all working. I called the service manager at MB East Rand mall and he advised me immediately that my problem was the 'steering lock' and that I was to call MB to have the vehicle towed to the garage.

At - 09h15 JJJ Towing arrived with a 'flat bed', dis-engaged the automatic box and then pulled the vehicle out of my garage. JJJ were fantastic.

At 12h55 on the 6th June I called MBSA to querie the 'steering lock' problem. I was advised that they would get back to me!

My vehicle was delivered to MB East Rand Mall and following various calls, on Friday 7th at - 15h00 I was told that there was no problem with the vehicle and I could collect

I have established that this problem has occured with other vehicles on the MB ERM floor and that one of the vehicles has been back 4 times with the same problem. The vehicle is now waiting for a 'new modified' part to address the problem. (2 weeks)

I called MBSA again on the 7th and 10th at 13h12 and have been advised that they have no recored of this type of problem and will esculate in 48hrs!
