Cars & Transport

I was involved in a minor fender bender on the R300 freeway and a tow truck from West Cape Towing (Blackheath) came to my 'assistance'. The cause of my accident was a tyre that had burst and while I was changing that tyre my car keys disappeared. I kept asking everyone on the scene whether they had seen my car keys and everyone, including the tow truck driver, said no. My wife was also at the scene and she said that she remembered me specifically putting the keys on the floor next to me, while I was busy fitting my spare wheel. Eventually, the tow truck driver convinced me to have the car towed to my house at a cost of R850, to which I agreed. An independent witness on the scene can verify this. When we got to my house we were followed by another tow truck from the same company and a gentleman (using this word very loosely), by the name of Riaan was very rude and they then proceeded to demand R2500 for their services. An argument ensued, as this was not the original agreement. Eventually, when I got my car back on 28.05.13, they demanded R8000, to release the car. It also turns out that Riaan (towing company) had somehow managed to get hold of my car keys.
