Mugg And Bean
You'll get what they have and not what you orde

This morning I went to the Mugg and Bean with friend for breakfast. We both ordered a breakfast, mine being French toast with bacon and maple syrup.

At about 8h30 the waiter arrived with two meals, giving the one to my friend and the other to me saying "We don't have any maple syrup so I brought you honey. I hope that's ok."

I was left in an uncomfortable position because if I said that it was not ok, then the meal would be sent back and wasted, and my friend would eat alone. Then when my meal arrived, I would eat alone.

I don't understand why the waiter did not point out to me when i ordered that they had no maple syrup so that i could order something else. Honey does not work with bacon, so i would have ordered something else.

In any event, it was 8h30 in the morning in one of the biggest shopping centres in Johannesburg. Surely they could have just sent the waiter to one of the grocery stores within the shopping centre to buy some maple syrup?

I'm not impressed with Mugg and Bean Fourways. What a pathetic showing on their part.
