Payed to leave my food at the restaurant

I don't understand how the trainees are trained but I am sure that they are trained to bring take aways before they bring the bill. Me and my wife went to go eat at spur in blue route mall and enjoyed some of our food until we were full. My pregnant wife and I were on our way to an appointment we had and asked the waiter to put our left over meals in take aways and bring the bill. We payed the bill, finished our drinks and took our bags and left for our next appointment. When we left with the car we noticed that we never got our take aways. Understanding that we should have noticed that we didn't get our take aways and that some of the blame is our own, it is also the fault of the waiter that did not bring the take aways immedialtly after it being taken away. I enjoy taking my wife and daughter to spur and this incident is not pleasant.
