I phoned the restaurant wanting to buy sushi and asked the person that answered the phone if they have any salmon sushi platters. The person (Jean) jsut said hold on and gave the phone to a lady where I had to repeat myself continuously before she understood what I said and wanted. I could hear Jean in the background asking the person if she wanted a take away.
I just hung up and phoned Ocean Basket. I regard this as being really unprofessional as Jean could've just explained the platters and then said he's going to give the phone to a waiter now to take the order. Then it would've been fine, but his complete unwillingness to help me was unacceptable!
They will definitely loose a lot of business if they carry on with such manners over the phone.
I hope Jean gets some training on how to speak to customers over the phone.
I don't want him to get in trouble, but he will have to sharpen his telephone skills.
