I loaned money from Wonga, which did not go off on the debit date. I was contacted immaterially by Wonga, and as my husband recently became unemployed, Wonga made an arrangement with me for the amount to be paid back in 4 months. They said that if I stick to this arrangement, no additional interest will be charged.( There Code of practice section 5 point 8). I paid month 1 (the arranged amount), month 2 (a little more than arranged), month 3 (a little more than arranged) and on month 4, I went online to check my outstanding balance that should have been less than the monthly amount agreed upon. Almost the full amount still showed as due! After phoning them continually for almost 4 months, sending my proof of payments, I eventually got told that the issue is under investigation, and that I must stop phoning, they will be contacting me with feedback. NOW I am being threatened with Credit bureau listing, and they demand an incorrect amount to be paid back to them, even more than the incorrect balance that still shows on-line. WONGA does not keep record of payments made, and is unable to provide statements. They are, and will ignore your rights as a consumer!!! YOU WILL OVERPAY!!
