I took an AG cellular phone on contract with Bayport financial service in 2009. In 2010 i had a problem with the cell phone and contacted Bayprot about it. they then sent a driver to come pick it up for repairs. I had since not received the phone back. I reported the matter with one of the consultants at Bayport until i stopped paying for the phone. Late last year Bayport placed a trace alert on me without any contact with me whatsoever since i had not changed my contact details. I contacted their complaints department about the issue and they claim that there is no trace of my phone having been taken for repairs. I am also told i owe them R10 000 in arrears and a trace alert cannot be removed until i pay that amount. They claim that their calls are recorded why now do i have to produce evidence that my phone had been taken for repairs whilst they have the records. I am not happy at all since i am unable to buy a house because of the trace alert on my name.
