Std Bank is cheating me out

I was with this bank for almost ten years and because of FNB's aggressive marketing i decided to join them and requested that the account be closed, but this was not done and i incurred charges for a debit order of R25 for an amount of R1900 and was sent through to a legal collections department. I want to join std bank again because i know its a better bank for me. Now i have to pay for an amount is so high because someone did not do their job properly and honestly i will be escalating this query to the Ombudsman.
