On the 11th of April, i applied for an ABSA cheque account online. I sent all the documents that they required.
1st of all the mail they sent had the wrong email address to which I was supposed to send the documents to. I contacted the online banking centre to get the correct email address. in my effort to follow up on my application I was taken from pillar to post, with different stories spending 2 days calling them to find out what was happening to my application because I needed the account urgently. then on the 17th of April, after a number of calls a consultant called to confirm the type of account and said she will call me back in 15min, well that never happened and after 3 hours had to go back to my phone and follow the matter up again and still no one was able to help me. This was a total waste of my time, energy and airtime and I want nothing to do with ABSA ever again. the consultants do not know what they are doing and need to be trained. I have turned to another bank who have opened an account for me.
